Registration & Requirements
Registration
Player registration link is provided once to the team captain upon receipt of the nomination fee.
Team Requirements
- Minimum 7 athletes
- Min. 1 NBL1 athlete per team (exceptions provided)
- Max. 3 NBL1 athletes (averaging 20+ mins in the NBL1 2026 season)
- Provide 1 scorer per game
- Minimum age eligibility: U16 Div 1 or Div 2, WABL | Futures
- Must play a minimum of 4 games for finals qualification
Game Rules & Uniforms
Rules
- 8 minute fully timed quarters
- 1 minute breaks
- 3 time outs per game
- 5 players minimum to start a game; 6th player must arrive before end of 1st quarter
- Overtime: 3 minutes
Uniforms
Athletes must wear black shorts. Player jerseys must have a number on the back and front.
Insurance, Forfeits & Officials
BWA Insurance
Men’s: All players must have registered and paid all BWA yearly membership fees. Please ensure membership fees do not expire within the season.
Women’s: All players must register and pay all BWA yearly membership fees. This must be completed on individual player registration.
Forfeits
Must be paid prior to the next game.
- Before 4pm: $110
- After 4pm: $220
Officials — CBA to Provide
- 3 x Officials
- 1 x Shot clock operator
Fill-In Requirements
All players must register directly to your team using the player-to-team registration link issued during the registration process. Potential costs incurred when registering directly to the team are the Basketball WA annual player insurance fee, Basketball Australia annual game development levy, and CBA Stadium redevelopment levy — totalling $57.35. All fees are compulsory.
Fill-in athletes cannot play under another athlete’s name and must register to your team prior to the commencement of your game. Due to insurance requirements, the use of unregistered fill-in players is not condoned, as unregistered players are not insured. The CBA does not accept liability for injuries sustained by any person while participating in a competition fixture at the stadium or any other venue.
This will be audited. Any team found in breach of the fill-in athlete rule may have their game deemed a post-game disqualification forfeit.
