The Cockburn Basketball Association is on the hunt for our future leaders.
The ‘Junior Cougar Leadership Committee’ is a new initiative designed to give passionate Cougar juniors a bigger voice inside the community, by creating an environment that brings big ideas to the table.
To begin, the program will target 12-15 year olds with a significant interest in Cockburn Basketball Association.
Athletes will need to demonstrate a passion for the Cougar Family, behaviours reflective of the Association’s values, be a team player, and not be afraid to put their ideas on the table.
Cockburn Basketball Association Chief Executive said the idea came from a number of highly engaged juniors in the Cougar Family wanting to do more.
“Over the past 12 months, I have regularly received letters from some of our passionate junior members who want to make a contribution to our community,” he said.
“We have juniors focussed on the environment, some who have innovative ideas on connecting with our NBL1 program, and some who just want to make a difference.
“So this idea is a way for junior Cougars to express themselves, assist their community, and improve their leadership skills all at the same time.”
The committee is open to all members of the Cougar Family aged 12-15, with the expression of interest process outlined below.
