The Cockburn Basketball Association Aussie Hoops centres finished 2020 as Western Australia’s most popular participation program.
With 756 total participants in 2020, which is more than double the state average for metropolitan association’s of 356.
The Cockburn Aussie Hoops programs comprised 16% of the State’s total participants, and 25% of the metropolitan total.
Cockburn Basketball Association Basketball Development and Administration Manager Simon Petersen said there was unprecedented growth across 2020.
“Our programs exploded in the back half of 2020,” Petersen said.
“We have a committed group of coaches who care about every single athletes – it makes a massive difference.
“We value the experience, it’s culture over numbers every day, the huge number of kids is just a massive bonus.”
Cougar Aussie Hoops is currently running out of Wally Hagan Stadium (Hamilton Hill), Cockburn ARC and Melville LeisureFit Centre.
Term one registrations have already opened – with programs filling up fast.
